Joel and I just returned from a fast and fabulous trip home to the US. We were only gone for 11 days, but we got to see and do many things in a short amount of time. We started in Washington where we got to meet our newest grand son, one month old Porter and celebrate his two brother's birthdays, Ethan, now 4 and Spencer, 3! Chiree was doing a great job (as usual) holding down the fort while our son, Joshua was away for training in Colorado. We enjoyed watching Superbowl 2012 with Chiree's family, a trip to the zoo and a visit to Joel's parents up in Anacortes while we were there.
Next stop was Tucson AZ for the Gem and Mineral Show, a dream of Joel's for many years. It was worth the trip and as an added bonus we got to see our friends, the Stanleys, who will be joining us soon in India.
Last stop was Minneapolis, MN to see Jacob and his new bride, Kaylin. They have a darling apartment in Plymouth and Jacob showed us around his school, including doing a flight simulation for us, and a tour of the private airport where he works. (pictures are on my iPhone, as soon as I figure out how to get them on the computer I'll post one)
Our only regret...not seeing our loved ones in Colorado, including Joshua who was supposed to be in Washington, but got trapped in Colorado in a heavy snowstorm.
